The DFE Network Port™
The DFE Network Port unit is a network-attached storage device designed for the exhibitor environment that delivers a full gigabit of network connectivity. Each DFE Network Port contains two SmartPac™ unit drive bays that are hot-swappable. The DFE Network Port unit is rack-mounted with a 2RU chassis. Network connectivity is maintained even when drives are not installed.
The DFE Network Port unit can be easily configured via a web-based user interface. Once the Port is configured, the user need only place the SmartPac unit into one of the drive bays and content can be copied to any designated digital cinema server. The same drive format can be used for both Windows and Linux digital cinema servers.
In addition, the DFE Network Port unit automatically gathers and stores drive performance data on the metadata drive of the SmartPac unit for analysis and retrieval by distributors.
